Salmon Cake

Crispy on the outside, moist on the inside! Homemade Salmon Cakes.

Ingredients


  • 200 ~ 250g fresh salmon

  • 1 medium potato, boiled and mashed

  • 1/4 onion, finely chopped

  • 1/5 carrot, finely chopped

  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley or dill

  • 1 egg

  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Olive oil, for frying




Step 1


Flake the salmon using a fork or knife. Place it in a bowl along with the boiled and mashed potato.


Step 2


Add the chopped onion, chopped carrot, herbs, egg, breadcrumbs, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together until well combined.


Step 3


If the mixture is too loose, gradually add more breadcrumbs to help shape it.


Step 4


Shape the mixture into round cakes using your hands. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat and cook the cakes for about 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown.





Tip


  • If the mixture doesn't hold together well, try adding another egg or adjusting the amount of breadcrumbs.

  • For an even more delicious dish, serve with a rich tartar sauce or fresh lemon aioli.
